Baseball was no match for the No. 5 Texas Tech Red Raiders.

The Huskies (3-4) were swept in a four-game series at Rip Griffin Park in Lubbock, Texas, being outscored by a combined 25-4.

NIU lost Friday’s doubleheader by scores of 8-0 and 5-0 and was swept by scores of 6-4 and 6-0 Saturday. All four runs the Huskies scored in the series came in the ninth inning of the third game.

The Huskies hit .208 (27-130) over the four-game stretch. The Red Raiders batted .318 (39-123).

NIU resumes play Friday with a three-game series against Tennessee Tech in Cookeville, Tenn.
