NIU cross country: Greg Hipp resigns as Huskies head coach

Greg Hipp has left his post as cross country head coach after four seasons, Donna Turner, associate athletic director for Communications, confirmed Friday.

Hipp has taken an assistant coach job with the Northwestern Wildcats’ cross country and track & field programs, per his Twitter page.

Under his guidance, senior Meghan Heuer and freshman Kelsey Hildreth became the first runners in program history to earn All-MAC honors. Additionally, they became the first to earn All-Region honors. Heuer and Hildreth achieved both honors during the fall 2014 season.

Hipp also served as an assistant coach with track & field’s long-distance runners.
