Men’s tennis bounced back from a season-opening loss with a winning record in its second weekend of competition.

The Huskies beat the Wisconsin-Whitewater Warhawks, 7-0, and the Illinois-Chicago Flames, 5-2, Friday in Rockford. Sunday, the Huskies beat Indiana-Purdue Indianapolis Jaguars in Rockford.

The weekend sweep comes on the heels of a season-opening 7-0 loss to the Drake Bulldogs Jan. 16 in Des Moines, Iowa.

Senior Frederic Cadieux, junior Simon Formont and freshman Georg Lundkvist each went 3-0 in singles matches over the weekend.

Freshmen Tom Hjertonsson and Louis-Philippe Hamel went 2-1 apiece. Freshman Kevin Daun went 1-2.

In doubles, NIU went 7-2 and took the double point against all three opponents.
