Weekend Guide: Jan. 15

Here are some local art and music events you can attend this weekend:

Thursday

Fatty’s Pub & Grille, 1312 W. Lincoln Highway, is hosting Country Night events every Thursday leading up to the Brad Paisley concert Feb. 5 at the Convocation Center.

Country Night will feature DJ Toxic, who will play mixes of country music videos. Country Night attendees will get a chance to win tickets to the Brad Paisley show.

An opening reception for the art exhibition Graffiti Imagery in Contemporary Art is 6:15-7:45 p.m. in the Visual Arts Building’s Jack Olson Gallery. The exhibition, curated by alumnae Alison Balcanoff and Alyssa Jaracz, will be open daily through Feb. 26.

Friday

Indie rock band All The Wine will host a release show for its EP, “Summer Parade,” 8 p.m. at The House Cafe, 263 E. Lincoln Highway. The show will include performances by The RPM’s, Seasonal Mens Wear and Last Night In Leeds. Doors open at 7 p.m. and tickets cost $5.

Saturday

Local author Barry Schrader will release a book titled “Hybrid Corn & Purebred People, Volume 2” 1:30 p.m. at the DeKalb Public Library, 309 Oak St. Schrader will sign copies of his book 1:30-3:30 p.m.

DJ Who Cares will perform 10 p.m. at Rosy’s Roadhouse, 930 Pappas Drive. The dee-jay set will include a blend of Top 40, hip-hop and party tunes. You must be 21 or older to attend.
