STEMfest set to be held on Oct. 18

The fifth annual STEMfest will be held Oct. 18 in the Convocation Center.

NIU’s science, technology, engineering and mathematics departments, student organizations and national labs will present hundreds of activities in an effort to raise awareness about the impact of science during STEMfest.

This year’s activities will run 10 a.m.-5 p.m. They include a Tech Play Ground where attendees can make their own music, animations and videos, a display of an vehicle that receives 1,265 mpg and a collection of robotic devices from regional engineering teams.

There will also be video and writing competitions. The event is free and open to the public.
