Provost finalists to visit NIU this week

Four finalists for the position of executive vice president and provost will come to campus in the next month.

The finalists will meet with faculty, students and staff while touring the university.

Martin Abraham, a finalist, will be interviewed Wenesday and Thursday.

Faculty may meet with Abraham in an open forum 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. Thursday in the Illinois Room of the Holmes Student Center.

University staff and members of the community may meet with Abraham in an open forum 10:45 to 11:45 a.m. Thursday in Altgeld Hall, Room 315.

Students may meet with Abraham in an open forum 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. Wednesday in Altgeld Hall, Room 315.

Feedback forms, which will be given to NIU President Doug Baker, will be distributed at each forum.

Abraham is the founder and dean of the College of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics at Youngstown State University in Ohio.

Abraham also serves as the chair of the Ohio Engineering Deans Council and is a professor of civil/environmental and chemical engineering at Youngstown.

Details for the other candidates will be released a week before their campus visits. These visits will be held on April 10 and 11, April 16 and 17 and a date to be determined.
