Anthropology graduate student Anthonie Tumpag has been invited to speak at the Field Museum of Natural History in Chicago for the 10,000 Kwentos project on Monday.

The 10,000 Kwentos project is an event hosted by the Field Museum to involve Chicago’s Filipino community in gathering more information about the museum’s 10,000 pre-colonial and Muslim artifacts from the Philippines. Tumpag will speak about how collecting artifacts has helped him discover his own Filipino-American heritage. Anthropologist Fay-Cooper Cole, for whom the collection and Cole Hall is named, was one of the main scientists involved in amassing artifacts in the 10,000 Kwentos collection.
