A local teacher was charged with possessing and distributing child porn Oct. 28.

Jerome B. McCauley, 45, of Sycamore, has been charged with five counts of possession of child pornography (class 2 felony) and five counts of distribution of child pornography (class X felony). He is a teacher and coach at St. Charles middle school.

A Sycamore detective was investigating Internet crimes when he discovered McCauley to be in possession of child pornography. An investigation led to a search of McCauley’s home, where evidence was seized.

Police said further charges are possible at a later date.
