Student ambassadors tackle diversity

By Northern Star Staff

This semester marks the first time Diversity Education Ambassadors are going into classrooms to promote academic diversity programs.

The ambassadors program came from COMS 407, which allows communication majors to receive up to three credit hours for doing service work with professors.

The student ambassadors put their public speaking skills to the test through their classroom conversations, which focus on “the value of being culturally competent,” according to a release from the program.

Students who are interested in joining the program in the future can contact Janice Hamlet at [email protected].
