After putting together a stellar year as wide receiver last season, Martel Moore is now in the NFL after signing with the Atlanta Falcons, joining another former Huskie in Patrick Schiller.

What the future holds for Moore is wide open, but what he did at NIU, especially in his senior year, cannot be disputed.

Moore racked up more than 1,000 receiving yards on 75 total catches and led the team with 13 touchdowns.

The standout receiver helped lead the Huskies to victory in key games like their victory over Toledo, where he caught two touchdowns and accrued 153 yards.

He was also the lone scorer for NIU in the Orange Bowl, as he grabbed an 11-yard touchdown pass.

Moore served as quarterback Jordan Lynch’s main and most dependable target, just as he did for Chandler Harnish before that.

Moore left NIU in second place for reception yards and touchdowns, and is fourth in total catches.

Moore recognizes the success his team had but knew the team had potential from the get-go last season.

“Coming in to the season, I felt really good about our chances of making history,” Moore said. “I knew all I had to do was become a leader and do my [part] on the field. In all I felt very good about my season this year. I had a great run at NIU and will always be a Huskie.”
