Movie producers should consider film-inspired clothing lines for fans

How many times have you watched a movie and thought, “Man, I wish my clothes looked like that?” Thanks to the Junk Food Art House clothing line, we can all dress like our favorite little blue Smurf.

That’s right–there’s a clothing line inspired by the one and only Smurfette. It is called Le Look Smurfette. E! described the look as “Gamine Chic.”

During New York Fashion week, the blue collection will show at the Conair Style360 space in Manhattan. This adorable line of dresses, trousers, skirts and jackets will be available at select retailers before the release of “The Smurfs 2.”

If Smurfette is too blue for you, H&M released a 30-piece clothing line in 2011 that sold out in minutes. The line is based on Lisbeth Salander, the heroine in “The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo.”

Trish Summerville, “The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo’s” costume designer, created this collection. The edgy line had leather jackets, trousers, torn jeans and hoodies.

“I wanted the collection to have the essence and strength of Salander, with a fashion edge, and I’m pleased with the result,” Summerville said, according to CBS.com. “My goal is for women to find pieces in it that they love and then mix them with their own wardrobe to create their own personal style.”

Now, boys, don’t think I forgot about you: If you love Sylvester Stallone, he is developing a clothing line inspired by his roles in the Rocky and Rambo films. His collection will feature jeans, outwear, shirts, underwear, watches and other accessories for men.

“I pay a great deal of attention to the way I dress,” Stallone told Women’s Wear Daily. “When men learn to put things together, they start taking care of themselves better. Rocky, at the end of the day, is a love story, while Rambo showcases the other side of masculinity. He’s a loner.”

So the line will offer looks for “the rebel and the gentleman,” according to Stallone.

I can’t wait to see what fashions lines will be created based off of movies in the upcoming years.
