The following was taken directly from area police and fire department records, or DeKalb County court records. Anyone mentioned is presumed innocent until proved guilty in a court of law.

Monday

At 3:23 p.m., officers responded to Walmart, 2300 Sycamore Road, for a complaint of retail theft. Following an investigation, Shanae S. Scott, 19, was charged with retail theft and released on bond.

At 6:27 p.m., officers responded to Walmart, 2300 Sycamore Road, for a complaint of retail theft. An investigation led to the arrest of Nicholas J. Perry, 18, and Alexis C. Mendenhall, 19. Both were charged with retail theft.

At 9:31 p.m., officers were investigating criminal damage at 1029 Ridge Drive when it was learned one of the victims had a warrant out for his arrest. Cannabis and a cannabis pipe were also located. Michael R. Lawson, 23, was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and failure to appear—traffic.

At 10:10 p.m., officers responded to a Edgebrook Drive resident in reference to a domestic investigation. Upon arrival, it was noted there was evidence of a bite on the victim’s thumb. Jalecca E. Davis, 22, was charged with domestic battery.

Tuesday

At 5:54 a.m., officers on patrol checked the registration of a vehicle in traffic and learned the owner had a suspended license. Following a traffic stop at 800 N. Seventh St., Martin Marquez, 30, was charged with driving with a suspended license and released on bond.

At 1:05 p.m., Joshua M. Diestelkamp, 20, turned himself in on a failure to appear  —no valid driver’s license. Diestelkamp was released on bond.

Wednesday

At 9:07 a.m., officers on patrol checked the registration of a vehicle in traffic and learned the owner did not have a valid driver’s license. Following a traffic stop at 1500 S. Peace Road, Juan P. Sandoval, 31, was charged with no valid driver’s license and released on bond.

At 5:43 p.m., officers observed a vehicle speeding. Following a traffic stop at 1700 Sycamore Road, Janelle M. Robinson, 23, was charged with driving with a suspended license, speeding, operating an uninsured vehicle and failure to secure a child under 8 in child restraint.

At 7:43 p.m., officers on patrol checked the status of a license plate on a Dodge Neon and learned the plate was expired and the owner had a suspended license. Following a traffic stop at 1900 Sycamore Road, Danielle R. Torrance, 24, was charged with driving with a suspended license and expired registration. Torrance was released on bond.

At 8:04 p.m., officers responded to University Village, 821 Crane Drive, for a trespass report. The suspect left prior to officer arrival but was located at Thirsty Liquors, 1039 W. Hillcrest Drive. The subject was inside the van and was issued a trespass notice. The driver of the vehicle, Eulean C. Smith, 25, did not have a valid driver’s license and was taken into custody.

At 8:06 p.m., officers responded to Kohl’s, 2070 Sycamore Road, in response to a report of retail theft. Following investigation, Janelle V. Hammack, 18, was charged with retail theft.

Thursday

At 12:50 a.m., officers observed a vehicle squealing its tires at the intersection of Lincoln Highway and Annie Glidden Road. The vehicle was stopped at 1000 W. Lincoln Highway and George J. Pranckus, 22, was charged with DUI, DUI over .08, and squealing of tires.

At 3:38 p.m., the complainant witnessed two subjects in a pickup truck steal a sewer cover at JCPenney, 2540 Sycamore Road. Steven W. Gahlbeck, 45, and Timothy E. Wessels, 46, were charged with theft.

At 9:52 p.m., officers responded to an Augusta Avenue residence in reference to a domestic battery. Upon arrival it was learned that the complainant and his roommate had multiple verbal altercations. Following the altercation, the complainant’s roommate pushed him and, in an attempt to stop him from leaving, grabbed his arms, causing several scratches. Terrell Randle, 18, was charged with two counts of domestic battery and was transported to the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office.

Friday

At 10:14 a.m., Andrew William Bouleanu, 21, turned himself in on a warrant for hazing and was released on bond.

At 11:39 a.m., officers responded to University Village, 819 Russell Road, due to a complaint that a subject was refusing to leave. Dispatch advised that the subject had been previously banned from University Village. Jermaine Harris, 25, was charged with failure to appear—domestic battery, trespass, and resisting a peace officer.

At 9:24 p.m., Kori M. Kilpatrick, 26, turned herself in on a warrant for failure to appear—theft and possession of liquor and was released on bond.

At 9:40 p.m., officers observed a vehicle with only one headlight illuminated. Following a traffic stop at 1000 Hillcrest Drive, Alex J. Jackson, 22, was charged with no valid driver’s license, operating an uninsured vehicle, failure to appear—theft of a motor vehicle, failure to appear—criminal trespass, and theft of motor fuel. Jackson was transported to the DeKalb County Jail.

At 10:33 p.m., officers responded to 731 Russell Road to serve a warrant. Gevonnee S. Pate, 21, was charged with failure to appear—driving with a suspended license. Pate was transported to the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office.

Saturday

At 1:58 a.m., officers observed a vehicle make a turn that resulted in the tail of the car swaying back and forth. The car crossed the center line multiple times. Following a traffic stop, Michael W. Gardner, 21, was charged with two counts of DUI, driving too fast for conditions, and operating an uninsured motor vehicle.

At 9:31 p.m., officers responded to 907 N. 14th St. in reference to a fight. Dispatch advised one of the suspects got into a vehicle. Following investigation, Salvador R. Alvarez, 65, was charged with DUI, and no insurance.
