Wednesday

At 6:54 p.m. Sept. 30, officers were sent to Douglas Hall in regard to a report of theft. Officers met with the complainant and took a report. On Wednesday, the case was administratively closed due to a lack of leads.

At 8:47 on Nov. 2, officers were sent to Northern View apartments in regard to a report of battery. Officers arrived on scene and initiated an investigation. On Wednesday, the case was administratively closed due to a lack of leads.

At 12:46 a.m., an officer on patrol of Grant Towers North met with a person in regard to cannabis. The meeting resulted in the person being referred to the Office of Community Standards and Student Conduct for possession of cannabis and possession of drug paraphernalia.

At 1:45 p.m., an officer was sent to the NIU Police Department in regard to a report of theft. The officer met with the complainant and took a report. This case is open pending further investigation.

At 7 p.m., an officer was sent to the New Residence Hall Complex Community Center in regard to a report of battery. The officer met with the complainant and took a report. A person was identified as the offender and referred to the Office of Community Standards and Student Conduct for battery.

At 8:15 p.m., an officer was sent to the NIU Police Department in regard to a report of theft. The officer met with the complainant and took a report. This case is open pending further investigation.

At 9:18 p.m., an officer was sent to Neptune Hall East in regard to a report of cannabis. The officer met with a person in the room in question. The meeting resulted in the person being referred to the Office of Community Standard and Student Conduct for possession of cannabis.

Thursday

At 11:45 p.m., an officer on patrol of Grant Towers South met with a complainant in regard to a report of deceptive practices. The officer took a report and initiated an investigation. On Thursday, the case was administratively closed due to a lack of leads.

At 1:45 p.m. on Friday, an officer was sent to the NIU Police Department in regard to a report of theft. The officer met with the complainant and took a report. On Thursday, the case was administratively closed due to a lack of leads.

At 1:29 a.m., an officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle at the 1000 block of West Hillcrest Drive. The driver, Tikrell Sanders, 40, of South Holland, had active arrest warrants for failure to appear in court on charges of domestic battery and possession of cannabis. Sanders was arrested and sent to the NIU Police Department. He was then sent to the DeKalb County jail.

At 12 p.m., an officer was sent to Northern View apartments in regard to a report of identity theft. The officer met with the complainant and took a report. This case is open pending further investigation.
