Who doesn’t like a good scare or two? The new season of American Horror Story premieres 9 p.m. today on FX, and it’s giving its fans something to talk about.

Season one followed the twisted tales of the Murder House, the haunted house the main characters move into, leaving fans wanting more. There has been a great deal of publicity about the new season to get fans pumped, but was that enough to keep them loyally waiting for season two?

Although some of the actors from the first season are returning, the plot is completely different.

Season two, titled American Horror Story: Asylum, involves the stories of patients restrained in a 1964 church-run insane asylum. Head of the asylum, Sister Jude (Jessica Lange) takes charge of the unruly criminal group with deviants of all kinds.

Jessie Blough, big-time American Horror Story fan and junior rehabilitation services major, is looking forward to the new season’s arrival.

“You kind of question how the old characters could have continued on with their story, but I like the different setting for the new season,” Blough said. “And what better place to have the setting for a scary show than an asylum.”

Although the old plot is dead, some of the actors are returning to play new roles this season, including Lange, Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters, Zachary Quinto and Lily Rabe.

Fans may wonder how Lange is going to perform in her new role after winning the Screen Actors Guild Award for best female actor in a TV drama series for season one of American Horror Story. Her phenomenal performances in each episode last season will surely be hard to top, but with a whole new character, she’s bound to surprise us all.
