Library to host guest speaker to discuss elections

Friends of the NIU Libraries has invited Rick Pearson to give a talk on the 2012 presidential elections, according to a Friends of the NIU Libraries press release.

The talk will be held at 7:30 p.m. on Nov. 15 in the Founders Memorial Library’s staff lounge. The event is free and open to the public, according to a Friends of the NIU Libraries press release.

Pearson has been a political writer for the Chicago Tribune since September 1997, according to Friends of the NIU Libraries. He has spent more than three decades reporting on Illinois government and politics. He has also traveled the nation as part of the Tribune’s presidential election coverage teams.

Pearson also regularly reports for WGN radio and television. He covered the Democratic and Republican national conventions.
