DeKalb man charged with battery, aggravated assault

A DeKalb resident was charged with battery and aggravated assault Sunday after allegedly punching several victims and threatening others with a knife.

Lance S. Wesby, was charged with two counts of battery and one count of aggravated assault. DeKalb Police Lt. Gary Spangler said police were initially called to the 800 block of Regent Drive at approximately 2:46 a.m. for a fight involving a knife. Spangler said Wesby was located on the scene after he was identified by several witnesses.

“Witnesses said he got into a fight with several subjects and got out a knife and was waving it around,” Spangler said.

Spangler said no one was injured during the fight and Wesby gave the knife to police before being arrested.

Wesby was transported to DeKalb County Jail following the incident.
