The Rant: Too much Tiki, too little time

By Andrew Singer

It was confirmed by ESPN on Tuesday that former New York Giants running back Tiki Barber has filed the papers to come out of retirement. Barber, 36 in April, hasn’t played since the 2006 season.

In other words, one season before the Giants won one for America by beating the communist New England Patriots in Super Bowl XLII.

Barber ran for 1,662 yards in 2006, more rushing yards than any running back in NFL history in the last year of their career. Four years removed from playing, though, it’s hard to imagine Barber hitting any holes that aren’t donut holes.

I’ll be honest Tiki, if I saw Eli Manning win a Super Bowl without me, I’d be furious too, but don’t embarrass yourself by fumbling away any legacy you might have with a laughable comeback attempt.
