The Rant: March Madness channel changes are garbage

March is upon us.

The greatest month in the history of months; It is a time when a jump shot can make a man into a legend. There is no better spectacle in all of sports than March Madness.

Even the biggest college hoops fans, who claim that every month of the season is amazing, have to admit that there is nothing better on this earth than college basketball in March.

There is one thing that threatens its glory, however. The television listings for this year’s NCAA tournament are enough to give hoops aficionados an aneurysm.

The first four games of the tournament on TruTV? Games leading up to the Sweet Sixteen on TBS and TNT?

Gone are the days where mammoth fans could just hunker down on the couch for two weeks, turn the TV onto CBS and have three laptop computers logged on to Sportsline.com to catch the other three games on at any time to catch all the action. Instead, now the NCAA seems to think it’s a good idea for us to spend our time searching through our cable guide trying to find another game.

This is garbage. While I love the NCAA Tournament more than I love my children who have yet to be born, I hope this season’s broadcasts are a colossal failure.

I just don’t see the point in tinkering with the most entertaining machine in the history of ever.
