Amusing mistake

Although most of the column was predictably trite, one particular portion was rather entertaining. Entertaining not by its content, of course, but by an apparent oversight on the part of the columnist. Specifically, note the sixteenth paragraph. Therein, Lyons mentions something about people having been “hung and beaten”. Perhaps Mr. Lyons needs to be informed about the difference between being “hanged” and being “hung”

In addition, he may wish to look up the phrase “non sequitur” for further reference.
