Respect those around you in library

By LETTER WRITER

As a senior I have seen many students, ideas and changes come and go. There is just one thing that I have seen leave and never return, that is respect. Respect for fellow students has packed up and moved on with his cousin common sense. Sure, the library is supposed to be a quiet haven for studying to better your life with a career that you want to pursue, but with common sense and respect dead and gone, who cares? When your cell rings make sure it is loud; everyone deep in thought needs a shot of adrenaline now and again to keep up the studying, so help out a fellow student. I know that when I am walking up to the ‘library’ and come in the doors of the ‘library,’ I’m wondering if I can also hear my phone over the hum of the lights. When the ring tone gets to the end of the song don’t pick it up; let it play out some more, then answer it on speaker so everyone can hear the other part of your conversation. Not doing that is just rude; I can’t wait to get filled in on the latest drama. When you have your laptop and forget your earplugs turn it up a few more notches so the people upstairs can jam out to Kanye West. When it comes to PDA I’m all for it; you’re already laying across two chairs making out, be a trooper and go for the GOLD. Don’t be a tease; no one likes a tease. Finally, after the two hours of texting and talking on your phone don’t forget to be obnoxious and make a grand exit on your way out. Make your presence be known, swing those books and stomp your feet, remember you are a special person from what your conversation implies. So as the school year winds down to the last five weeks, be as loud and annoying as you can be, if we can deal with and overcome distractions while trying to better ourselves, there is no telling how strong of a Huskie Community we can be.
