Sex offender arrested in DeKalb

DeKalb Police arrested a man Thursday for an alleged sexual assault, according to a press release.

Ricardo S. Nieto, of DeKalb, was charged with three counts of predatory criminal sexual assault, a Class X Felony, the release said.

The victim reported the abuse to a school official, who then reported the incident to The Department of Children and Family Services.

DeKalb Police Lieutenant Gary Spangler said police were notified by DCFS Wednesday and that they made the arrest Thursday.

DCFS was called because the victim lives in the same household as Nieto, the release said.

Nieto is “alleged to have sexually abused the victim multiple times over a one-year period.”

Nieto is currently being held at the DeKalb County Jail on $300,000 bond, the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office said.
