The following information was taken directly from DeKalb Fire Department, DeKalb Police, University Police and DeKalb County Police reports and DeKalb County Courthouse records.

Someone driving a car around NIU’s central campus Friday hit the Stevens Building steps and almost hit a pedestrian, University police said. No further information was available.

Caleb A. Jewell, 18, 1022 Grant South, and Douglas W. Erickson, 21, 1242B Grant South, were arrested Sunday by DeKalb Police. Jewell was charged with unlawful use of an identification card and entering and remaining in a tavern as a minor. Erickson was charged with unlawful use of an identification card. Jewell and Erickson were arrested at the Jungle, 1027 W. Hillcrest Drive, during a random identification check by DeKalb Police.

Jewell allegedly told police that the incident was all his fault and that Erickson had nothing to do with using the identification cards, police said. Jewell allegedly then asked if the arresting officer would forget the incident and let them walk away, police said.

Jewell and Erickson are scheduled to appear in court March 8.

A man had the two sweatshirts he was carrying in his arms stolen from him Saturday by several men in a car. The man was riding in the 400 block of Lucinda Avenue when the men pulled up and threatened to beat him if he didn’t turn over the clothes, police said. One man grabbed the clothes and the car sped away north on Normal Road, police said.

Robert Motley, 37, 515 E. Taylor St., was arrested Saturday by DeKalb Police and charged with battery. An officer on patrol saw a man and a woman fighting in the parking lot of 1100 W. Lincoln Hwy., police said. The officer stopped and the man told him that another man had pulled a knife on him, police said. Motley allegedly drove into the lot, started yelling at the first man and then punched him in the face, police said.

Motley is scheduled to appear in court March 8.

Jeffrey A. Haynes, 20, was arrested Friday by DeKalb Police and charged with criminal trespass to property and resisting arrest. Eric J. Spivey, 18, Chicago, also was arrested and charged with obstructing a police officer. Haynes was yelling obscenities in Wendy’s Restaurant, 1115 W. Lincoln Hwy., and refused to leave after he was asked to do so. Haynes and Spivey are scheduled to appear in court March 1.

Lisa Marie Wilkowski, 20, 155 Harrison St., was arrested Sunday by DeKalb Police and charged with criminal trespass to property. Wilkowski went into an area at A-Z Towing, 1440 Pleasant St., that is marked ‘no trespassing,’ police said. Wilkowski is scheduled to appear in court March 8.

Heather L. Poindexter, 19, Darien, was arrested Saturday by DeKalb Police and charged with entering and remaining in a tavern as a minor. Poindexter was arrested during a random identification check at the Paradise Club, 1212 W. Lincoln Hwy., and told police that she came into the bar with a group of friends and her identification was not checked, police said. The bouncer said she had a valid identification card and presented it, police said. Poindexter is scheduled to appear in court March 8.

The following people were arrested this weekend during routine identification checks at Molly’s Eatery and Drinkery, 1022 W. Lincoln Hwy.:

Bart J. Geiser, 20, 919 W. Ridge Road, Apt. 5, Gregory A. Baddick, 19, 900 Crane Drive, 731 W, Gina M. Martinelli, 20, and Cynthia A. Cowles, 19, 1307 W. Lincoln Hwy., Apt. 3127 and Lisa V. Anderson, 19, Sycamore. Geiser, Baddick, Martinelli, Cowles and Anderson are scheduled to appear in court March 1.

Aaron P. Hix, 24, 813 W. Taylor St., Apt. 715, was arrested Saturday by DeKalb Police and charged with retail theft. Hix allegedly put a carton of cigarettes, a bottle of aspirin and a copy of Consumer Review magazine, all valued at $31.65, in the back of his jacket and left the store without paying for the items, police said. Hix is scheduled to appear in court March 15.

Kerri L. Campbell, 23, 1503 Dresser Road, was arrested Saturday by DeKalb Police and charged with retail theft. Campbell allegedly put a tube of lipstick and an eyeliner pencil valued at $8.69 into her coat pocket, paid for other items and left the store, police said. Campbell is scheduled to appear in court March 8.

Christopher C. Amoroso, 20, 910 W. Hillcrest, Apt. 215, was arrested Friday by DeKalb Police and charged with possession of false identification and possession of alcohol as a minor. Amoroso is scheduled to appear in court March 1.

Rico J. Soave, 20, Hinckley, was arrested Friday by DeKalb Police and charged with retail theft. Soave allegedly put an adjustable wrench and pliers in his pocket and left Farm and Fleet, 1600 E. Lincoln Hwy., without paying for them. Soave is scheduled to appear in court March 1.

Eric D. Pullin, 24, 1307 W. Lincoln Hwy, Apt. 1116, was arrested Friday by DeKalb Police and charged with disorderly conduct. Pullin sprayed a fire extinguisher into the second floor hallway of Stadium View Apartments and Condominiums, 1231 W. Lincoln Hwy., police said. Pullin is scheduled to appear in court March 15.

Bruce C. Baumgartner, 51, Rochelle, was arrested Friday by DeKalb Police and charged with retail theft. Baumgartner allegedly put four couplers valued at $6.16 into his pocket at Farm and Fleet, 1600 E. Lincoln Hwy., and left without paying for them. Baumgartner is scheduled to appear in court March 8.
