A fight outside Lincoln Hall led to two arrests Thursday night.

Access Control workers in Lincoln Hall reported a fight in progress to University Police at 12:51 a.m. in the service drive in front of the main entrance between a group of four males and another group of two males.

Officers arrived on scene and broke up the fight, according to the UP’s blotter. After investigating, officers arrested Nicolas A. Elizondo, 18, and Taylor T. Bond, 20, both of St. Charles, for battery. Bond was also charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, as he drove his vehicle onto the top of a snow bank.

As of press time, it is unknown how or why the fight started.

Brian Hemphill, vice president for Student Affairs, said the two men who were beat up by the other four refused medical attention and are currently filing charges.

Hemphill could not comment further nor could the UP be reached for comment. Officers booked Elizondo and Bond at the NIU Police Department. They were then released on bond.
