Students, alumni, professors to visit NYC for printmaking exhibition

A group of students from the NIU School of Art, five alumni and two professors will visit New York City this weekend for an NIU-developed exhibition of printmaking, “Predictions & Premonitions”.

The exhibit opens Saturday at the Pearl Street Gallery. The exhibit is unique in that it attempts to take a look into the future. From 4 to 7 p.m. there will be a reception in the gallery.

“This is very exciting,” said Michael Barnes, an associate professor in the arts, in a press release. “New York City is the center of the art world.”

Barnes is credited with discovering the opportunity. For many students in the group, it will be their first exhibit and first visit to New York City.
