Demetrius Jones makes final decision

By ANDREW HANSEN

Former Notre Dame quarterback Demetrius Jones has finally chosen a school.

Unfortunately for the Huskies, that school is not NIU.

Jones chose to transfer to Cincinnati according to the Cincinnati Enquirer.

Due to Cincinnati being on the quarter system, the university has not reached its 12th day of class, thus making Jones eligible to play next season.

Cincinnati head coach Brian Kelly received permission from Notre Dame to talk to Jones and Kelly suggested he come to meet the coaches and see the facilities.

Jones attended Cincinnati’s practice on Wednesday.

“My whole point of going to Notre Dame was the same reason I committed here,” Jones told the Cincinnati Enquirer, “…the atmosphere on campus, they’ve got top-notch facilities.

“They’ve got a head coach who’s been coaching for 16 years. I can put some of my best qualities on display. I just think it was a perfect fit.”

Cincinnati is currently 4-0 and ranked No. 24 in the nation in the latest AP poll.
