More TV time for football

DeKALB | Exposure continues for the NIU football team.

The Huskies will have six more games televised this season, to bring the total up to nine televised NIU games.

Sept. 15 game against Eastern Michigan in DeKalb and Sept. 29 game at Central Michigan will be featured at as the MAC’s “Game of the Week” and will be rescheduled to kick off at 11 a.m. The games will be broadcast by ESPN Regional Television.

In addition, Comcast SportsNet Chicago will air Sept. 8 game against Southern Illinois, Oct. 13 games against Western Michigan, Nov. 10 game against Kent State and Nov. 24 games against Ball State.

Due to the airing on television, the games against Western Michigan, Kent State and Ball State will now kick off at 3 p.m.

In the last three seasons, 32 NIU games have been televised.

Transferred In

The NIU women’s soccer team received a gift in the form of a transfer on Monday.

Jestina Orlando is transferring from North Dakota State University to NIU and is eligible for the 2007 season.

A Park Ridge, Ill., native, Orlando played the past two season at forward for NDSU. In 2006, she was the third-leading scorer on the team with five goals.
