The four-hour ‘24′ recap

6 to 7 a.m.

— Jack is released from being tortured in a Chinese prison to the American government, who intends to sell him to Fayed, a known terrorist, in exchange for the location of terrorist leader Assad, suspected to be behind recent nationwide bombings.

— Jack is handed off to Fayed. As he is being tortured (again), Fayed admits he is the one behind the bombings; Assad is prepared to stop using terrorist tactics.

Bauer Body Count: 1

7 to 8 a.m.

— Jack steals a cell phone and calls CTU to tell them that Assad is not behind the attacks. The President decides to go through with the air strike on Assad.

­— Jack finds Assad’s safehouse to warn him. They escape seconds before the air strike hits. One of Assad’s men is a traitor and gives up the location where Fayed’s men plan to meet.

8 to 9 a.m.

— Jack and Assad follow Fayed’s man and cause a car accident so Assad will have to drive the man to his destination.

— CTU find plans for a suitcase-sized nuclear bomb. Then they learn that the man who can operate it, Numair, is loose and probably on his way to Fayed.

9 to 10 a.m.

— Numair meets up with Fayed and starts working on the suitcase nuke, but needs the component from Ahmed.

— Jack tries to get Curtis to agree to work with Assad, even though Curtis has a history with him.

— When the president grants Assad a full pardon for his continued assistance, Curtis tries to kill Assad.

— CTU closes in on Numair’s safehouse. Numair detonates the nuclear bomb.
