‘Playful Sex’ coming to the House

By Evan Thorne

Dance away the aches and pains of the first week of classes this Sunday, when DeKalb will play host to a trio of distinguished indie-rock outfits.

Asobi Sesku – Japanese for “playful sex” – will perform at the House Cafe, 263 E. Lincoln Highway, in support of their latest release. The bilingual “Citrus,” which sees frontwoman Yuki make frequent transitions between English and Japanese lyrics over lush instrumentals. Asobi Sesku has toured with bands like Mates Of State and the Appleseed Cast.

Headlights, whose album “Kill Them With Kindness” was released late last year, will also be performing.

DeKalb quintet Inspector Owl will start off the night’s show.
