Tues. game forces parking changes

DeKALB | By noon on Tuesday, vehicles occupying certain parking lots and areas of campus must be moved due to NIU football’s home game against Toledo, which starts at 6:35 p.m.

Parking Services handed out flyers informing students of the upcoming restrictions, said Sue Hansfield, director of facilities and event operations.

“We want to thank everyone for cooperating all season with the parking arrangements we have made for football on game days,” Hansfield said. “NIU Athletics, Parking Services and NIU Police all cooperate together to create a safe area for the fans and cars.”

Vehicles in lot PS, located southwest of Stevenson Towers, must be moved by noon. Permit holders will need to relocate their vehicles to lot P, X or W. They may return to lot PS on Wednesday.

Also, vehicles left on any section of Stadium Drive past noon will be towed to lot X.

The visitor lot located west of Founders Memorial Library will be open for general football parking at 3 p.m., and resume regular hours at 7 a.m. on Wednesday. However, all reserved parking areas in this lot will be enforced.

As a reminder, those who wish to tailgate in general parking areas may only do so in the Convocation Center parking lots. Lot K and the parking lots located north of Grant Towers are for general parking purposes only.
