DeKalb Police have arrested two men in connection with an altercation on Ridge Drive early Tuesday morning.

DeKalb Police Chief Donald Berke said police received a 911 call at 12:55 a.m. that five men began a fight with three other men walking in the area of the 800 block of Ridge Drive.

During the incident, one victim was robbed of his wallet, which contained about $16 and various items of identification. No weapons were used or implied, police said.

Berke said two of the five men were located in the area shortly after the robbery. A car fitting the description given by the complainants was stopped by police. Two men were then identified as the robbers by the complainant. The investigation is continuing to determine the identification of the other three suspects involved.

Jeffrey H. Hurley, 22, 1325 W. Lincoln Hwy., DeKalb, was arrested and charged with robbery and two counts of aggravated battery.

Scott L. Lewis, 20, of Carpentersville, was arrested and charged with robbery and aggravated battery. All charges on both subjects are felonies.

Lewis was also arrested on two outstanding Kane County warrants for violation of probation for aggravated battery and fleeing or attempting to elude police.

Both suspects were transported to the DeKalb County Jail in Sycamore. They are being held there awaiting their next appearance in court, which is Oct. 7.

Deputy Paul Delisio of the DeKalb County Jail said Hurley is being held on $50,000 bond and Lewis is being held on $75,000 bond.
