DeKALB | NIU football fans will have even more coverage of the Huskies’ game against Indiana State this weekend.

Going the distance

After finishing seventh two weeks ago at the Bradley Open in Peoria, the NIU cross country team focused its attention on the Western Michigan Invitational in Kalamazoo, Mich. Friday.

At the Bradley Open, the Huskies were led by Meghan Ginter, who came in 19th place with a time of 19:32:03.

This week the Huskies will have a different challenge.

Three other MAC schools will participate in the tournament: Eastern Michigan, Western Michigan and Ball State.

Hot stroke

The NIU women’s golf team will look to continue its solid play this weekend when it visits White Water, Wis. for the Whitewater Invitational.

The Huskies come into the tournament with confidence on their side. The Huskie golfers finished second place last weekend at the Autumn Invitational.

Just a week before that, the Huskies finished in sixth place at the Hawkeye Intercollegiate.

“We played much better this week. We had a big rally from the opener at Iowa, which we were very happy about,” NIU coach Pam Tyska said.

Drake Invite

After only having one player finish in second at Ball State this past weekend, the NIU men’s tennis team will look improve its match play this weekend when it visits Des Moines, Iowa for the Drake Invite.

Last week, Huskie sophomore Jimmy Chu advanced to the quarterfinal round and sophomore Alfonzo Monroy finished in second place.

MAC stats

After the first three games of season, the NIU football team has fared well in the MAC offensively.

The Huskies are first in total offense at 435.0 yards a game and second in rushing offense at 232.0.
