Convo to cha-ching(y) at Homecoming

By Derek Wright

DeKALB | The Convocation Center will be cha-chinging with this year’s Homecoming concert. But it won’t be the echoing of cash registers that makes the noise, instead it will be St. Louis-based rapper Chingy.

The 26-year-old will headline the show Friday, Oct. 20. Tickets for the performance go on sale Friday at 10 a.m. and can be purchased at the Convo’s ticket booth and all Ticketmaster outlets. Tickets are $29.50 for students with an NIU student ID (limit two) and $34.50 for the general public. Gold Circle tickets are limitedly available for $45.

Doors open at 7 p.m. with the show to begin an hour later.

Chingy, best known for the track “Pull Me Back,” will be accompanied by openers Chamillionaire, fresh off his victory for Best Rap Video at the MTV Video Music Awards, and Jibbs.
