Van Buer reverses order of closure for The Barn

By Justin Gallagher

The Barn’s sudden closure late Wednesday is “hereby discharged and lifted,” reads an agreement set by DeKalb Mayor Frank Van Buer and The Barn.

Originally closed for not paying taxes, it has been found The Barn did actually pay the dues on time, midnight of Jan. 1.

The payment was for the renewal of its liquor license, which is now good until Jan. 31, 2007.

The Barn was allowed to reopen at 5 p.m. Thursday for the sale of alcoholic beverages.

The city was not available for comment as of press time.
