After pacing the NIU football team with 277 rushing yards and five touchdowns Wednesday, junior running back Garrett Wolfe garnered his seventh MAC Player of the Week in two years.

In the Huskies 42-7 victory over Western Michigan on Wednesday, Wolfe’s effort brought his career yards tally to 2,966, good for No. 7 in NIU history. His 277 rush yards were good for the second best rushing game in Division I this season. Only USC’s Reggie Bush had more yards, with 296 against Fresno State Nov. 19.

Wednesday marked Wolfe’s 13th career 100-yard game. His season totals to date are 200 attempts for 1,310 yards and 14 touchdowns.
