Ombudsman offers fair, unbalanced assistance

The Office of the Ombudsman extends a warm welcome to all students, faculty and staff members as we begin a new academic year. We hope that you find NIU to be both an open and welcoming community.

The ombudsman is independent of the university’s formal administrative structure and provides confidential and informal assistance to individuals who wish to resolve concerns related to the university, especially those that are not being addressed adequately. As a designated neural party, the ombudsman will consider all sides of an issue in an impartial and objective manner. We cannot impose solutions but we will help identify options and strategies that may help you resolve the matter.

The Office of the Ombudsman is on the sixth floor of the Holmes Student Center. Visit our Web site www.niu.edu/ombud for more information, or call us at 753-1414. Have a wonderful year.
