Traditional women reverse social change

By Kelly McCradic

Women have become more expressive and demanding in this world ruled by men.

Females have been fighting for equal rights for years, slowly creeping up the gender food chain. Women have strived for these rights, but there are some women reluctant to join the elite gender group and help get equality for women.

Men in this world have been running the show for centuries, leaving women to sit behind or by the side of a man and not choosing to use their voice to reach people in this world.

There are some women who have chosen the lifestyle of traditional roles. Traditional relationships consist of the woman existing mainly to procreate and to take care of the house, children and her husband.

This traditional woman has a tendency to set the female gender back from what our mothers, grandmothers and great-grandmothers have worked hard to change.

In today’s society, one starts to notice the women who fought to keep their rights, as well as receive them, are teaching other females to want and demand the equality and respect from all men.

The women of my generation have mothers who grew up in the ‘60s and ‘70s, when many women were jumping at the chance to get in the “man’s” chair.

Mothers are now teaching their daughters to push themselves to want more and have genuine goals and dreams that will push most, if not all, women to want that piece of gold at the bottom of the male rainbow. There are exceptions to this rule.

The more traditional women don’t possess the desire to demand the equality of men.

At home or in the workforce, these women tend to be distant and obedient. They make it their personal job to take care of the man first, children second and themselves last.

This is different from the independent generation of women who put themselves first and want a better life for themselves. Independent women care about themselves enough to make sure they reach their goals and achieve success, so they don’t find themselves being the type of woman who sets back all women.

Most independent women try to make the most of their lives before the transition into more traditional lives: husband, children and home.

Women of all categories should be standing up and wanting more out of life, even if it’s being traditional, but at the same time wearing the pants in the family and calling the shots, so to speak.

This way, all the work that women of the past have tried to do won’t be for naught.

Keeping an open mind to life’s objectives will get traditional women to become independent and still keep their traditional values.

It’s possible to be at the top of the gender food chain and still keep one’s independence and traditional morals and lifestyle.

Equality must be demanded by women, and should always be. It’s up to women to break the chain and sit at the top.

They can enjoy the traditional life as well as having their own independence.

Women today can work to be the leaders of tomorrow. All we need is the ambition to want it.
