I wish to commend the Star on your excellent comprehensive coverage of the Martin Luther King, Jr. Commons dedication ceremony. Especially noteworthy was the editorial of Sept. 20 captioned “Day to Remember.” This was indeed one of the most memorable, moving and unifying events in my 26 years at Northern Illinois University.

In the words of that editorial, “It is now up to all of us to remember that day, not for the brick and stone that it honored but for the values it brought forth.”
