On sexism …

“Sexism against a male director for the rape crisis center is still sexism and it should be avoided. Racism by the same token against someone who’s white is also racism. Two wrongs don’t equal a right.”

On NIU …

“I just want to say that I think NIU is starting to be a big joke and laugh compared to the prestigious way they want this school to carry itself with construction, parking and everything else going around.”

On the bus stop …

“I just want to ask when NIU’s going to get common sense to build a shelter for the bus stop over next to the library. I think it would be a good idea.”

On the scene …

“If you ram into somebody’s car in the parking lot and leave a dent in it, as happened to my car, please be considerate and leave a note with your name and number on it. It’s the law.”

On Clinton …

“Clinton is a bill we cannot afford.”

On the cafeteria …

In reference to the NIU cafeteria. “Cut the crap and get it right.”

On typo’s …

“The Mike Royko column had so many typo’s in it that it made me sick.”

On the gate …

“Yeah I was wondering if anyone really thinks the new $250,000 gate on Castle Drive is wide enough for the eagles at Lowden Hall to fit through.”

On pigeons …

OK, did anybody ask the pigeons if they wanted to be relocated? Then give me a break. There are people starving all over the world. Actually there are people starving right here in DeKalb, I’m sure, and we’re worried about pigeon poop.

On construction …

“I live directly across the street from the student center and they’ve been paving the road for about eight months now, and approximately six weeks of finishing the four feet between my front lawn and the curb. When is this gonna be finished, they haven’t worked on it for days?”

On vagrant preachers …

“Here I am again reading about the vagrant preachers on campus. I’ve heard them say a lot of different things. I’ve heard them say that women who wear short pants ought to be raped, I think what they have to say is offensive and they should be put in jail like anyone else who tries to disturb the peace.”

On NIU hypocrisy …

“Talk about hypocritical … NIU has accepted a $100,000 grant from the Philip Morris Company (tobacco industry)…yet smokers all over this campus and across the nation have virtually been banned from society. Funny how money, no matter where it comes from is the bottom line.”
