R. Kelly and Jay-Z: Unfinished Business (2 stars)

By Lady C

R. Kelly and Jay-Z are back … again, with their collaborative album, “Unfinished Business.”

In 2002, the pair made their first joint attempt, “The Best of Both Worlds,” which flopped – and the tour was canceled.

R. Kelly faced rape charges that were eventually dropped and this new album was put together to make up lost time.

The new release contains about three banging tracks, followed by some others that don’t stand out because they are pretty much the same songs.

On the song “The Return,” not many changes were made from the original, but Dougie Fresh adds a new dimension.

“Feeling You In Stereo” speaks to a special lady who inspires them and tells how their chemistry is like a perfect track.

Kelly sings, “Lookin’ at yo’ sexy smile, while I put my vocals down/Girl you have made this song a hit in each and every town.”

Jay-Z adds with his rap, “We made love in the studio when we got together over and over again like a loop/Damn I’m missin’ you/It’s hard to listen to.”

The album proves personal problems weren’t the only factor in the first album’s failure – trying to mix vinegar with oil is more like it.

They should have learned the first time; their second tour together was recently canceled.
