Tuesday’s football game was not the most embarrassing thing that happened. That distinction belongs to the NIU band for its performance during halftime with a tribute to “The Rocky Horror Picture Show.” What was that person saying over the loudspeakers the whole time? It was awful, and that is being nice. I was embarrassed to be an alumnus of NIU after watching that. It was the first time I heard parents booing a performance before. I now realize why my friends and I always go back out to the parking lot to tailgate during halftime. The sad part about this is that someone actually put time and effort into practicing this routine and thought it was a good idea. This person should not be on the payroll at NIU.
