Trashy ads send Star’s readers wrong message

I’m very concerned about the type of advertisements making their way more often into our school newspaper. On Oct. 20, I noticed the ad for “Grin ’n’ Bare it,” a strip club from Chicago marketing its services here for anyone interested. On Oct. 28, I noticed not one, but three ads for similar services.

I am familiar with free speech in advertising and that sometimes that includes defending the rights of creeps, but are these the type of services we want to be advertising in our paper? Where’s the line on exploitation of women? Are we encouraging that?
