Sujo John, a survivor of the Sept. 11, 2001 attacks on the World Trade Center, will speak about his experiences at 7:30 p.m. tonight in Cole Hall.

John was on the 81st floor of the WTC on the day of the attacks. During his presentation, he will tell the story of how God led him through the events of the tragedy and how he and his pregnant wife escaped from death, said Trevor Holloway, a leadership team member of InterVarsity Christian Fellowship.

John has been a prominent religious speaker around the world and has given speeches at various rallies, campuses, churches and banquets since undergoing a life-changing experience.

The InterVarsity Christian Fellowship, which is sponsoring the event, expects more than 500 people to come hear John speak.

“This is something that not too many of us will ever get to experience,” Holloway said. “To meet and listen to someone who went through the towers going down is really something special.”

John’s story has been told in The New York Times, The Times-London, The National Post, BBC and various other print and television media around the world.

He will continue to tell his story of God’s unconditional love for mankind with scheduled stops in Nebraska, Minnesota, Vancouver, New Jersey and Georgia.
