RHA offers week of activities

NIU’s Residence Hall Association is holding a week full of activities dedicated to students.

The week kicks off with a football decorating party in the New Orleans Room located in Stevenson North’s basement.

RHA originally scheduled a flag-football tournament at Huskie stadium, but plans fell through last week.

“Unfortunately, we had to cancel flag football in the stadium because of [the Office of Campus Recreation’s] incompetence,” said RHA President Keith Kruchten.

The OCR did not secure a referee for the flag football tournament, so the event had to be changed at the last minute, Kruchten said. The football decorating party was planned as a replacement in hopes to raise some enthusiasm for the Bowling Green game on Friday.

Residents of each hall will receive free items at their hall during Tuesday’s event.

“In each of the halls, we will be giving away glow-in-the-dark cups, pens, key chains and other items,” said Leslie Cihock, RHA programming vice president.

RHA will be bringing back Chicago improv troupe Mission Improvable for another round of comedy at NIU on Wednesday evening. The group, which has been compared to the television show “Whose Line Is It Anyway?,” has been working on developing a television show similar to “Insomniac with Dave Attell.”
