Fashion models needed

Sigma Lambda Gamma is seeking models to be featured in its first fashion show. The theme of the fashion show is “Welcome to Paradise,” and it will feature styles and fashions from Latin and Caribbean cultures.

Simone Lamothe, a member of Sigma Lambda Gamma, said the event is not only a fashion show, but also a cultural awareness program.

“Although it is impossible to represent all Latin and Caribbean cultures, we just wanted to create an awareness for their cultures,” Lamothe said.

Lamothe said it is the sorority’s first time hosting an event such as this. She said the organization decided to put on the show to represent the diversity in its organization.

Hagar Allen, a member of Sigma Lambda Gamma and coordinator for the event, said students should come to the informational meeting because participation in the fashion show will be fun and educational.

Allen said Sigma Lambda Gamma is not looking for a specific body type.

“We want people of all sizes and all cultures to participate in this event,” she said. “People who are willing to participate in the fashion show are more than welcome to participate.”

The fashion show will be Feb. 26.
