Get ready, get set, dance!

Watch out! Three local bands will invade The House, 263 E. Lincoln Highway, at 8 p.m. Sunday to dish up wild stage antics and danceable indie rock.

Taking the stage will be Where’s Jimmy K At, Troubled Hubble and Millimeters Mercury.

Where’s Jimmy K At is comprised of four current NIU students: John Ugolini (vocals, guitar and Northern Star cartoonist), Mario Donini (guitar and vocals), Michelle Apostol (keyboard and vocals) and Dave HuYoung (drums). They will distribute their debut LP (“The Septalbum Demo’s”) at the show.

“Sunday’s show will be a good time,” Ugolini said. “You know, we just had our first week of classes, and this will be a chance to kick back … Where’s Jimmy K At will be around forever.”

Troubled Hubble, whose music was once referred to as “hardcore dork pop” by a music reviewer, began when four friends (two of them brothers) filled in for a band that needed an opener for a 1999 Chicago show. Since that time, Troubled Hubble has toured the country and landed a spot at South by Southwest, a large (if not the biggest) independent music festival.

The band consists of Andrew Lanthrum (a former NIU student on bass), Nate Lanthrum (drums), Josh Miller (guitar) and Chris Otepka (guitar and vocals).

Andrew Lanthrum is looking forward to playing at The House again.

“DeKalb is amazing,” he said. “We always have a good time.”

Chicago-based Millimeters Mercury’s style has been self-described as math pop, earning comparisons to bands such as Death Cab for Cutie.

So far, Millimeters Mercury has released one full-length album, “So Inclined,” and two EPs. Millimeters Mercury is set to release another full-length album in the near future.
