Rapid fire succession

MAY 2

“X2: X-Men United”: Professor X and his wacky band of mutants are back, and conveniently enough, on Reading Day! Instead of drinking all day long at at the bar, check out this movie. Why? Because Halle Berry (Storm) is hot, and because mutants rock.

MAY 15

“The Matrix Reloaded”: The next installment of “The Matrix” series promises to be what “Star Wars Episode 2: Attack Of The Clones” never was – a good movie. Four years and more than $100 million were spent tweaking this bad boy to perfection. “What if tomorrow, the war could be over?” asks Morpheus. “Isn’t that worth fighting for? Isn’t that worth dying for?” Hell yes.

JUNE 6

“2 Fast 2 Furious”: So it doesn’t star Vin Diesel, but now Paul Walker can spout contrived dialogue all by himself. After seeing “2 Fast 2 Furious,” beware the hordes of geeky teenagers speeding out of the theater in their mom’s minivans.

JUNE 20

“The Hulk”: During one of his hulk-outs, the green machine swings a tank over his head and chucks it at a helicopter. A freakin’ tank! Let’s us hope, for the sake of all things good and holy, that this doesn’t turn out like that “Daredevil” movie with Ben Affleck. HULK SMAAAASH!

JULY 2

“Terminator 3: The Rise Of Machines”: As if we couldn’t go another summer without Ah-nold butchering the English language. Here’s to hoping he never makes another movie again.

Other Releases

Some of those witnesses end up dead and the Angels are forced to stop the assassinations (June 27).

“Lil’ Pimp” – A movie made completely in Flash animation starring Bernie Mac, William Shatner, Ludacris and Lil’ Kim. Lil’ Pimp (voiced by Mark Brooks) and his only friend, his gerbil, Weathers (Ludacris), show up at a bar where they run into the master pimp, who introduces them to the world of pimpin’.(July 11)

“Bad Boys II” – Will Smith and Martin Lawrence reprise their roles and fight a ruthless ecstasy dealer in Miami. The two have a sort of falling out when Mike (Smith) falls for Marcus’ (Lawrence) sister. They probably resolve it and save the day (July 18).
