County COVID-19 cases rise to 536

DeKALB — The DeKalb County Health Department announced that the number of positive COVID-19 cases increased to 536. 

Among those who have tested positive for the coronavirus, 46 are younger than 19, 123 are in their 20s, 100 are in their 30s, 83 are in their 40s, 72 are in their 50s, 37 are in their 60s, 36 are in their 70s, 39 are 80 or older. 

As of Friday, 18 people have died from the coronavirus in the county, according to the DCHD website

Three staff members from DeKalb County Rehab and Nursing Center, 2600 N. Annie Glidden Road, have tested positive for the coronavirus. At Pine Acres Rehab and Living Center, 1212 S. Second St., 23 staff members and 54 residents have tested positive; as of Friday, 12 Pine Acres residents have died from COVID-19. 

Two staff members from Bethany Rehabilitation and Health Care Center, 3298 Resource Parkway, have tested positive for COVID-19.

Statewide 135,470 people have tested positive for COVID-19, and there are 6,580 reported deaths as of 3:10 p.m. Friday, according to the Illinois Department of health website
