DeKalb County COVID-19 cases rise to 787

DeKALB — The DeKalb County Health Department announced Friday the number of positive COVID-19 cases increased to 787. 

Among those who’ve tested positive for the coronavirus, 83 are younger than 19, 197 are in their 20s, 130 are in their 30s, 103 are in their 40s, 191 are in their 50s, 58 are in their 60s, 54 are in their 70s, and 61 are 80 or older. 

As of Friday, 24 people have died from the coronavirus in the county, according to the DCHD

At Pine Acres Rehab and Living Center, 1212 S. Second St., 26 staff members and 55 residents have tested positive; as of Friday, 12 Pine Acres residents have died from COVID-19. 

At Willow Crest Nursing Pavilion, 515 North Main St., twenty staff members and 35 residents tested positive for COVID-19. As of Friday, five Willow Crest residents have died from COVID-19. 

Statewide, there are 168,457 confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 7,385 recorded deaths as of 3:32 p.m. Friday, according to the Illinois Department of Public Health
