DeKALB — The DeKalb Fire Department issued an all clear update for Regent Drive area residents at 4:47 a.m., according to an alert sent out by the NIU Safe app.

The DeKalb Fire Department issued a warning at 12:25 a.m. Saturday to residents to avoid the Regent Drive area due to a reported gas leak.

Police officers and the fire department were on the scene, and the Huskie Safeline was temporarily suspended.

At 2:57 a.m. the DeKalb police and Fire Department  extended the safety and evacuation warning to residents and community members to avoid the following areas: 1110 Pappas Drive, 1120 Varsity Boulevard, 1000 Spiros, 1000 block of Regent Drive, Aspen Drive and Fotis Drive.

The warning has been lifted, and residents were able to return home.
