The DeKalb County Health Department announced 10 new COVID-19 cases Friday, bringing the total number to 8,662.

DeKALB — NIU announced Tuesday that two additional students and no employees have tested positive for the coronavirus, and no students have recovered, according to the Campus COVID-19 Dashboard. As of Tuesday, two students and three employees are currently COVID-19 positive.

The dashboard reports positive COVID-19 results on students and faculty who have physically been on campus within 14 days. It also includes students with a DeKalb address.

The dashboard’s cumulative testing statistics show a total of 608 Huskies that have tested positive for COVID-19, and 603 have recovered.

As of Tuesday at 3:00 p.m., NIU is at 0%  quarantine and isolation use.

Move-in Gateway Testing

Students are required to take a COVID-19 PCR test the day of their move-in and then immediately quarantine until their results are received. NIU will post results as they come in and will summarize all move-in results by Jan. 13.
